The DZ02G made a MASSIVE !!! over the DO1J. The 02G were so much stickier when cold and in the wet. The low res youtube doesnt really do the video justice. It s was great fun until that ungly monaro incident.

wow, that's some confident driving.  did you get a practice run or was that all off pace notes?

No pace notes, only dangerious corner notes. Basically driving fresh roads blind.

you've got balls. i'd be wussing out at each blind corner.

Youtube looses allot of the clarity. When you are in the car you have more insight as to whats coming up. But yes, to get good times you need to carry speed through somewhat blind corners or ridges at times. You always drive at 9/10, never 10/10. Unlike the next video i'll post when the car came off the road, as i misread a corner and went too quick too soon on cold tyres. There is a 1st time for everything i guess.

Havn't decided yet. Its repairable, but I'll get a similar amount out of it if i scraped it. Have to get a few more quotes 1st.  I was looking to upgrade anyway, but its a said way to do it.

Noel, honestly, get someone outside of Auckland to do the job, Auckland prices are so OTT when it comes to paint and panel, the only reason I can think of is because of the overheads of leasing premises etc.

Great videos Noel, thanks, and I have watched them closely. I did hear my Integra go past as the first car after your crash :).

You guys were very lucky you weren't in the car when the Monaro came through.

If I may comment on your driving: superb ballsy and fast - car control is superb especially considering you were RWD on slippery as roads (I know as I was driving them too)

However...... I think i can see a fault in your cornering technique which almost certainly contributed to your crash. Your turn-in is quite early and you apex very early. That is fine as long as the corner is as you read it, but if it unexpectedly tightens, by the time you can see it you are already committed to a widening line if you have carried a lot of speed into the corner. You will then either understeer off or lift and oversteer off. The corner you misread was also on a brow inevitably reducing traction and the result is as your video shows - bugger!! I also nearly lost it on that corner too.

Having said that i drove like a woose that day and ended up way down the order taking another 4 days to claw back again. Look forward to seeing you in an Integra soon??

Cheers
